A complete cooking experience awaits you at this luxury yoga retreat. Your week will include cooking demonstrations, hands-on sessions, the sourcing of local ingredients, a visit to a organic herb and vegetable garden, a session introducing you to the philosophy of cooking in Indian tradition, nutritional information, use of Indian spices, table setting and service. Guests will also be preparing a meal for children at a village school or orphanage.

This cookery holiday package gives guests the pleasure of exploring the flavors of Indian cuisine, the specialty of which is the use of spices and herbs, rooted in vegetarianism. On this cooking and yoga holiday you will get the opportunity to savor creative cuisine using the freshest ingredients that have been perfectly prepared to enhance the flavors and keep the meals healthy.

The main focus of the cooking holiday is the Personalized Cooking Sessions where the guests get hands-on experience in learning the preparation of a wide variety of Indian dishes under the guidance of the executive chef of the retreat. Each session includes teaching on:

  • Nutritional Values of the dishes
  • Alternatives / substitutes for ingredients
  • Combination of food items.

Over your seven day cooking holiday, you will get to learn the preparation of more than 40 dishes including breakfast, main courses, juices, soups, salads, starters, gravies and curries, Indian breads, rice preparations, condiments, desserts and herbal brews.

Included in your cooking and yoga holiday we will include a very interesting session on Holistic Kitchen Management. You will also enjoy a field trip to a local vegetable market and grocery shops so that you can get tips on choosing the right quality of vegetables and ingredients. No dining experience is complete without the love and creativity that goes in setting the table and serving the food therefore a session is dedicated for table settings and food serving suggestions.

Keeping up with the tradition of this luxurious, award-winning world-class resort, guests also get personalised Yoga classes included in the package. These yoga sessions include one breath regulation (Pranayama) class and one meditation class. The retreat is held in a luxury complex 35kms north-west of Bangalore. With the newly opened Bengaluru International Airport, the retreat is now just one hour away by vehicle and is made via a beautiful drive through the countryside. The new route completely by-pases Bangalore city and and the busy traffic junctions.

By Air: Flights to Bangalore are available from Europe, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Trivandrum, Vishakapatnam, Calcutta.
Airlines: Air France, British Airways, Gulf Air, Jetstar Asia Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, Malaysian Airlines, Royal Nepal Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Emirates & Sri Lankan Airlines etc.

By Road: From Mysore, Belur, Halebid, Hampi, Bangalore. (35km from the city centre)

By Train: To Bangalore, followed by a 1 hour drive.

Transfers: The retreat is happy to arrange station / airport transfers at additional cost.


The retreat is spread over 25 acres of landscaped gardens. The architecture and interiors are a perfect mix of traditional and modern. It is an environmentally friendly retreat and care has been taken to retain the original landscape and natural beauty of the place. Every effort has been made to preserve the precious natural resources with initiatives such as rain water harvesting, solar heating, ayurvedic and medicinal herb plantations, organic farming and organic waste disposal.

All meals served are made from organically grown ingredients freshly hand-picked from the 20 acres of fields that belong to the retreat.


The retreat has 14 exclusive rooms that can accommodate a maximum of 25 guests on a sharing basis including cottages and special rooms with tented canopies. Guests on this retreat will be staying in poolside or garden cottages.


All rooms and tents are air conditioned, have ISD/STD lines as well as complimentary Broadband Internet connections. Other amenities include an electronic safe, hair dryer, ceiling fan, and an electric kettle with a selection of teas. You will also find bathrobes, toiletries, slippers and writing desk with chair. The en-suite bathrooms have glass-enclosed showers, but not bath tubs.

Other Information

NB: Kindly note all foreign nationals (except those from Finland, Luxembourg, Japan, New Zealand and Singapore) coming into India require a valid Indian Visa. The visas can be obtained from Indian Embassy / Consulate in your region and the visa sanction normally takes 3-10 working days depending on the country.
