Spa holidays, spa retreats, spa breaks, spa weekends... Are these types of vacations the sort that you like and enjoy?
For a great many people, the chance to relax and unwind and be pampered is one of the best ways to spend a holiday. Whilst some may like to spend their hard-earned holiday time lying on a beach, or walking around museums and castles, or shopping, for others their vacation time is used to de-stress and revitalise.
What is a Spa?
According to Google the definition of a spa is as follows:
- A mineral spring considered to have health-giving properties
- A place or resort with such a spring
- A commercial establishment offering health and beauty treatment through such means as steam baths, exercise equipment, and massage
- A bath or small pool containing hot aerated water
Spas have been used throughout history as a way of healing the body, inside and out, and today their use has altered slightly to offer a more luxurious, pampering experience than simply a place to be healed.
What is a Spa Holiday?
If we look at the definitions of a spa given to us by Google I think that the best answer to this question would be that a spa holiday is time away from the stresses of life in a place where health-giving mineral waters are abundant. A time where one can enjoy health and beauty treatments. A place where we can take a break from our normal life!
Sounds glorious doesn't it?
Where can I take a spa vacation?
There are fantastic spas all over the world, and the popularity of spa holidays grows yearly. Not only are there more spa retreats appearing year by year, the range of pampering treatments and healthy therapies is also getting bigger. All spas are run and staffed by people whose job is to make you feel brand new! The staff are constantly learning new therapies and techniques to make your time with them even better. Ancient 'mystic' therapies are being rediscovered and bought up to date, all with the aim of making your spa holiday the best it can be.
On Awaken Holidays we have health Holidays with Spa facilities in countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and India, and the list continues to grow longer.
