Head to beautiful Sardinia for a very special Reiki Training Retreat. You will enjoy excellent daily teaching from Reiki Master Billy McGookin and the benefit of staying in gorgeous comfortable accommodation in the very lovely area of Ogliastra.
We are a small non-profit association, comprising of one Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher and one Reiki Master and Holistic Therapist; we are not a big company shipping in different teachers each week, when you come on retreat with us, it’s us that you will get!! We prefer to work with smaller groups, of between 1 and 10 people, that way we can spend some time with each person offering individual mentoring and guidance. We never cancel our retreats because of low numbers, for us it is about quality and not quantity, we want our guests to completely relax and have time to reflect and re-centre, to press the pause button on the stresses of our modern world. So if you are looking for a retreat which is all about excitement and thrills then we are not the choice for you! Our focus is on internal peace and not external distractions.
What to expect
The Reiki Retreat will cover the following subjects:
- Introduction to Reiki
- Reiki Principles
- Reiki Empowerments
- How to connect to Reiki
- Daily Exercises (Hatsurei Ho)
- Working with energy
- Reiki symbols
- Treating others
- Distant healing
- Drawing energy with symbols
- Scanning during treatments
Being on retreat means the teacher has time to give each person individual attention, with the option to have one to one mentoring included in the price so you can discuss any experiences or challenges you have with your Reiki practice. You will receive individual Empowerments to Reiki at level I at the beginning of the week and Attunements to Reiki level II later on in the week, you will also receive certificates to demonstrate your qualification as a Reiki Practitioner level I & II.
Each morning you will have a formal class, which will consist of practical exercises, instruction and theory, group discussion and practical hands on experience treating yourself and others.
In the afternoons you can continue working with the exercises in your own time, or book a one to one mentoring session to discuss your experiences with the practice. You will be given afternoon appointments to receive your attunements. Or alternatively you can get out and about or take one of the optional excursions on offer.

Ogliastra is in the heart of Gennargentu, home of the centenarians and of Cannonau, where the ancient culture is still present in everyday life and it seems as time stopped long ago.
This part of Sardinia; Ogliastra, which is often referred to as the “island within and island” offers the heart, soul and eyes an abundance of pleasures. It is sheltered away from the overcrowded tourist areas like Costa Smeralda, Olbia, Alghero & Cagliari and offers some of the best beaches on the island in our opinion! The east coast offers protection form the “Maestrale” winds that often batter the western coast, the sea is a transparent turquoise and, unlike Costa Smeralda, this area has miles and miles of sandy beaches. Cardedu & Bari Sardo beaches offer the opportunity to walk over 10km of beach without interuption! The area offers a diverse range of natural attractions; Mountains for walkers, mountain bikers and climbers, woodlands for nature lovers and explorers, beaches galore for sun worshippers. There are a wealth of activities from the scenic train trips to boat trips, diving, kayaking, climbing and horse riding, to name but a few! It is, perhaps, the perfect location for those needing an oasis of nature, calm and bliss, far away from all the modern glitz and constant barrage of materialistic pressures and demands of our modern western society.
Sardinia has 3 Airports (Cagliari, Olbia & Alghero) served by low cost direct flights from Europe and the UK. Cagliari airport is the closest. Transfers can be arranged at an additional cost, however we strongly recommend hiring a car as it generally works out cheaper than transfers and means you are free to explore the stunning local area.
You will be staying at Galanias Hotel; a relaxing, stylish hotel near the sea in the countryside near Barisardo, a coastal town in the South-East of Sardinia. The hotel uses much of the produce such as wine, fruit and olive oil which is actually grown and produced on the local land of one of the owners at Il Bono. They are striving to be as self sufficient as possible and already produce much of their own energy needs by way of solar power.
It’s worth taking some time to read some of the reviews they have received on Tripadvisor, you will get an idea of how strongly people feel about this stunning hotel! The owners of the hotel are passionate that you feel as if you are guests in the owners own home, and the hotel reflects this with a feeling of warmth and welcoming.
Overlooking the coast and the beautiful beach of La Torre di Barì, the hotel has been conceived as a peaceful oasis, surrounded by the Mediterranean maquis. Built in the typical Sardinian style, it is composed by three buildings: in two of them there are 33 rooms and in the main building are the other 10 rooms with all services and facilities such as reception, bar, lounge and the restaurant next to the swimming pool with a private corner and terrace for those wishing to enjoy a romantic meal together.
Vegetarian, Vegan and Coeliac menus are available; please ensure you tell us at the time of booking of any dietary requirements as the hotel may not be able to cook for special diets without notice.
