Other Information

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who are you?
A: We are Houssain & Mohamed Braim. Originally from Imlil (a Berber village in the Atlas Mountains), we started out as muleteers with individuals and groups, but for many years now we have organized and lead many successful tours and treks in the Atlas Mountains and around the Kingdom of Morocco.

Q: What is the best time to travel to Morocco ?
A: We fell that the best time to visit Morocco is in the spring (March to May) when the country is lush and in bloom, or in autumn (September to November) after the intense heat of the summer. For winter enthusiasts we also offer the Toubkal winter trek.

Q: Is the food safe to eat during the trek?
A: We take food safety very seriously. For this reason, we we have chosen the cleanest and most hygienically kept accommodation for our routes. If you chose a holiday in Morocco that includes camping accommodation, your cook prepares safe and tasty meals from carefully chosen food items and only hygienic clean equipment and facilities are used.

Q: Do you have an airport pick up service?
A: Yes, our Airport Representative will be there to greet you outside of Terminal Hall, where he will be displaying a sign with your name on it. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your Hotel or Ryad (if applicable).

Q: Do you provide any equipment while trekking?
A: On our camping treks we provide all the tents. These are sometimes dome tents and sometimes sturdy A frame tents. Normally people share one tent between two; where they have a foam mattress each. Included in our camp set up are all cutlery and utensils, cooking pots, stoves, candles/kerosene lantern, tables and stools, kitchen tent, dining tent and toilet tent. All the main meals while trekking are included, but not snacks. When you stay overnight in local gite accommodation, you will not have to bring any equipment. If you spend the night in the Toubkal Refuge, you will need to bring your own sleeping bag (or rent one in Imlil).

Q: What is the weather like?
A: Morocco has wildly varied climate. From snow capped peaks to scorching desert dunes, you will find that there is always somewhere to go. Even in the depths of winter the sun tends to produce very pleasant warmth during the middle of the day but please note that there can be a great contrast between day and night temperatures.

Q: Who do you employ?
A: We employ trusted friendly local people whenever possible (muleteers, drivers, guides, guest house owners in the mountains, etc). This allows us to help support the local economy and spread the wealth from private home to local shopkeeper in the village and beyond.

Q: Can we change the itinerary?
A: Depending on the situation, you can modify it to some extent after consulting with your guide, however, the date of trek completion should always coincide with the original itinerary. On occasions, local weather conditions may require the trekking route to be altered to ensure the safety of all participants.

“My friends and I just returned back from an amazing 4 days trip to the Atlas Mountains on bike. The entire trip was organized perfectly and we are so happy we chose this professional team for our lifetime trip to Morocco. We will return again soon!”

“If you want to see great scenery with unspoilt countryside a trip out from Marrakech to the Atlas Mountain with a knowledgeable locally based guide (speaking good English) is strongly recommend. They offer 1 day to 7 days rides for all levels and have new full-suspension bikes. It was certainly one of the highlights of our holiday, passing through ancient villages and flower-covered fields on singletrack.”

“Starting on dirt tracks, our guide Omar took up and down some twisty, turny mountain tracks into breath taking scenery. This was a challenging ride but fun, and our bikes worked fine. The accommodation in a tiny mountain village was basic but comfy and friendly with a tasty lamb tagine for supper and as much bread and mint tea as we wanted. The next day saw a challenging ascent of Toubkal. We stopped for mint tea with a view before an exciting descent into Imlil and another tasty tagine. We then had the option of chilling out in Imlil which has a range of shops and places to eat, or another short ride. This was a great two days and the hosts were really friendly, helpful and clearly loving showing us around scenic parts of their home country. I would highly recommend them.”
