Cooking Holiday in Amalfi, Italy
The Amalfi coast is one of Italy’s top destinations and we are sure it’s going to become a firm favourite with Flavours guests. Stretching about 50 km along the southern side of the Sorrentine Penninsula, the Amalfi coast has the most breathtaking scenery; cliffs terraced with lemon groves, white washed villas clinging to the unforgiving slopes and the views are to die for.
Amalfi has a reputation for great food whether its San Marzano tomatoes straight off the vine or the enormous and intensely aromatic lemons - perfect for making the famous limoncello. During the week-long holiday you will also get the chance to visit an artisan fior di latte (mozzarella cheese) producer too.
Dishes you will sample include: pasticciotti (pastry tart oozing with lemon custard- best eaten with a strong Neopolitan coffee) , tonati e patate (calamari), spaghetti al limone, ricci e peperoncini (typical handmade pasta with fresh tomato & chilli sauce), marinated anchovies, fresh local seafood including parpandalo shrimps, prawns, clams and fish baked on lemon leaves.
VENUES Our Amalfi villas have all been hand-picked for their stunning locations on the sea front: picture towering cliff-top villas looking out over the spectacular views of the Amalfi coast. All of our Amalfi villas come with private pools and ample space to catch some sun, with a glass of bubbly in hand, after the day’s lesson.
